Thousands of the world’s most influential and creative interior and design experts will descend on Morocco this December for North Africa’s biggest ever design exhibition.
INDEX North Africa – taking place in Casablanca between December 5 and 7 – will welcome more than 150 interior product suppliers from across the globe all looking to expand their reach in the continent and bring their latest designs to a whole new market.
The three-day show is a must visit for all designers, architects, distributors, contractors, consultants, buyers and procurement gurus operating across Central, North and West Africa keen to meet and partner with the firms setting international trends in commercial, hospitality, residential and retail projects.
Directors, general managers and sales executives representing firms specializing in all aspects of interior design – from furniture and lighting to textiles, flooring and technology – will be on site, throwing open the door to local companies and designers looking to grow in Africa and further afield.
Samantha Kane-Macdonald, Event Director at the INDEX Design Series, said: “To bring together North Africa’s most gifted design minds in the hotbed of style that is Morocco – a nation whose cultural heritage is so rich that its ancient creative identity is still instantly recognizable today – is a source of incredible excitement for all of the INDEX team. Our local and international exhibitors are viewing their three days at the show as a gateway to thousands of buyers and decision makers responsible for the biggest fit-out projects across the region, and are hugely invigorated by the prospect of working on some of the most impressive developments to be found anywhere on the planet.
“By having such a strong gathering of locally and globally respected brands looking to do business, the opportunities available to Africa-based interior designers, hoteliers, architects –literally anyone with a vested interest in residential or commercial furnishings and planning – are tremendous.”
Firms already booked to appear at the show include high-end bedding experts ISO Meuble, textile giants Gap Pazarlama, and Al Ola Trading, regional distributor of ergonomic sofas and recliners. They will be joined on the bill by hundreds of other industry leading designers, suppliers and buyers.
The show will allow visitors to talk design and business with the people who matter when it comes to importing and exporting interior products and services across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and America.
As well as those potentially lucrative opportunities, INDEX North Africa will also serve as a knowledge and information sharing hub for anyone interested in interior design. Free-to-attend seminars, organised by leading publishers Archimedia, will be held over the course of the event, covering topics ranging from future design trends to exploring African design innovations.
Based out of Dubai, the INDEX Design Series currently hosts the Middle East’s leading industry showcase, the INDEX International Design Exhibition. Held annually, the show – now in its 27th year – drew 34,400 visitors to more than 800 exhibiting companies over four days in May.
Designers from across Africa have long featured at INDEX. The last two years have seen 118 companies from Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Madagascar and South Africa exhibit at the show, taking up almost 4,000sqm of floor space.
The inaugural INDEX North Africa will take place at the Parc Des Expositions De L’Office Des Changes (CICEC), in Casablanca, between December 5th and 7th.
